Anguilles Sacrées De Faie

In the heart of the village of Fā’ie, a small stream which crosses the main road is home to the famous sacred eels, the giant puhi tari'a. Famous for for their blue eyes and size – they can be up to 2 meters long! Considered to be a gift from the gods they are the promise of a life of abundance and are much loved by the locals, especially children.
