Papeete: a family destination

Papeete, the capital of French Polynesia, has lots of activities and attractions for all the family. A visit to the market on a Sunday morning is a voyage to the colorful, joyous heart of Polynesia. Follow it with a stroll around the town to admire the superb works of street art. There are also many cultural sites to visit including, the Chinese Kanti temple, the Cathedral, the Pearl Museum and the Maison de la culture. Stroll along the waterfront to Paofai park where you can go for a ride on the tourist train, before enjoying a coconut sorbet as you watch yet another glorious sunset.

Rainbow Park in Pirae offers a superb day out for all the family. Treetop trails, and ground level circuits for children, ziplining and a host of other activities for the old and young. The park also has a mini-golf, a wildlife park with farm animals, and a picnic area with superb views over Tahiti.
