Getting to Taha'a

To get to Taha’a in the Society Islands, you first fly to the neighboring island of Raiatea. Your accommodation will usually arrange your transfer between the airport and Taha’a, a boat trip of about 30 minutes on the glorious lagoon that the two islands share.

Getting around in Taha’a

The best way to get around Taha’a is to rent a bike or motor scooter. You’ll be free to discover this peaceful, beautiful island at your own rhythm.

You can also go on a guided tour by motor scooter or car to discover some of the island’s most interesting and remarkable sites and sights, including the vanilla plantations and the two rum distilleries.

There’s a multitude of things to see and do in Taha’a. Dive into the clear turquoise waters of the lagoon to explore the diversity of marine life. Go snorkeling through a magical coral garden. Visit one (or both!) of the island’s rum distilleries. Take a boat excursion to some of the many idyllic, secluded motu. There is a large choice of accommodation available on the island: hotels, Tahitian Guesthouses, vacation rentals. Once again, it is better to reserve in advance to avoid disappointment.

Eating out

There are about a dozen restaurants on the island, serving fresh produce and freshly caught fish. Try some of the delicious local recipes, flavored with vanailla, naturally.
