The Islands of Tahiti is the romantic destination ‘par excellence’, with glorious sunshine, white sandy beaches and warm clear, turquoise lagoons. It is a place where you can leave all your cares behind you and focus your attention on the essential, yourselves. A vacation in the island paradise of French Polynesia is a shared experience that you’ll never forget.

The Islands of Tahiti is the perfect destination for loving couples. Basking in the sun, taking excursions on land and sea, being pampered in a hotel spa, enjoying delicious cuisine and generally making the most of being together. Here is our suggested itinerary for a 3 day romantic break in Tahiti, with a day trip to the sister island of Moorea.

Days 1 & 2

Tahiti

Day 1 – Part 1

There is a choice of activities in the hotel resort, including a scuba diving session and a relaxing traditional Polynesian massage in the hotel spa. On the peninsula, you can take a boat excursion on the lagoon, to see the legendary wave at Teahupoo up close. Then you’ll continue to Fenua Aihere, the uspoiled luxuriant countryside of Tahiti Iti, where you can go ashore for a short hike through the forest.

Day 3

Moorea

Day 3 – Part 1

Adventure time!

Day trip to Moorea: the sister island is only a 30 minute ferry ride from Papeete, and there’s plenty for you to do once you get there. Take a food tour to sample typical Tahitian cuisine. Explore the island’s interior by ebike, quad ATV, or four-wheel drive. Take a boat trip on the lagoon, and go swimming with rays and inoffensive blacktip sharks, then enjoy a picnic at the water’s edge on a deserted motu.

Day 3 – Part 2

Culture and local dances

Dance spectacle: in the evening you’ll go out to dinner at a restaurant which has a traditional Tahitian dance spectacle. Enjoy your meal, but look and learn, because you’ll probably be invited onto the stage to take a few dance steps yourself!

After this memorable evening, pack your bags, because the next day you’ll be flying off early to another paradise island in French Polynesia. There are 118 of them to choose from!
